The Odessa Roughnecks kicked off this season with a preseason game in Big Spring against San Angelo. It was a good game they played at the coliseum on the Howard Collage campus. The celling was a little low for football but it didn't make much of a problem. The city of Big Spring was exited about the event over an hour and a half before the game started there was already one thousand people at the coliseum waiting to get in. Over three thousand Big Springiens came to the game, including a group of especially rowdy Howard Collage students.
This guys did what people do at football games, they yelled and hollered and enjoyed themselves. The San Angelo owner was especially bothered at him and decided as a business women and leader in the community it behooved her to flip this young man the finger. After she shot him the bird she then decide that she should have the Howard County Sheriff's Department remove him from the game.
I would like to point out that this enthusiastic fan did not curse or say anything that would be considered inappropriate. Were he messed up is, when the deputies came to get him he didn't go with them, he wanted to argue with them. Then on his way out he danced and held his fist up as the crowd cheered him on. That got him in hand cuffs. He would have been fine if he had just gone with them and straitened things out. Instead he acted like an idiot, but he will be filling a complaint against the San Angelo owner.
When the deputies took the fan out of the stands a lot of people ran up there to see what was going on. Then later the guy who was sitting in front of me comes back after going to see what was going on. When he comes back he says the deputies told them to go back or they were going to arrest them. The lune acts like that's some sort of abuse of power. Then starts complaining about the deputy grabbing the fan when he started dancing. Guess what buddy that depute doesn't know what the guy is doing when he started dancing he could have been going for a weapon, and they don't want a bunch of spectators while there trying to work. They want control of the situation, they certainly don't need a bunch of extra bozos around that mite start trouble.
My points are these:
1. If you pay $15 to go to a football game you should be able to have fun and holler without worrying about the opposing teams owner giving you the finger and calling the sheriff on you.
2. If you're a sports team owner, a professional and a leader in the community you should have enough self control to not give a fan of the other team the finger.
3. If the police want to talk with you go, don't argue with them are play it up to the crowd, go and be polite and respectful, police don't like that bs.
4. If the police are trying to do there job stay out of there way. They usually don't want you there.
5. My last point San Angelo sucks.
